@ Seth Pinson they make great off road vehicles but lots of work needs done first…cummins 6bt engine swap and an axle swap from a 10 wheel drive 2 1/2 ton army truck and these become unstoppable

Mine was absolutely terrible in the mud, I spent more time stuck than anything else. It seemed mine was geared too low, it was maxed at 80mph, and yet with that gearing still no power.
Blazer has solid front axle and os much better for general off roading verses the bronco’s ttb front suspension….most bronco’s built for off roading have had front solid axle swaps

Having a cugv would be great, the amount of money and time to convert to 12V is a factor… To me, better to live in your bug out location, than to depend on any verhuicle, which at best will be difficult to keep fueled and running, as in extreme situations, roads will be blocked and tolls and f everything, to include your daughters and your life will be taken….. Remember, avoiding a fire fight is much better than flying nlead, which, no matter how good you think you are, and how good you prepped…. Can always come down to bad luck

The Blazers we had in the AF had 454 gas engines (7.4 lt). Drove like a tank.
Its actually a 6.2 diesel. Very reliable engine. No power. Mine runs great, you must of had a lemon.
Nope, was a 5.7 first-then a 6.2
Gas lasts about 6 months with a stabilizer.
Just wait till I get done converting this Wade Riemenschneider. Can you say fully equipped with sleeping quarters, 4 wheel drive, climate controlled cabin. Shower etc. And of course appropriate armament .:)

I have a 94 4 runner 3.0 v6…terribly underpowered but in low range it will climb like a jeep

The 5.7 was a reworked gasoline engine, crap I can’t remember what color but I know I had the 5.7 and not the 6.2.

It all depends on the situation. If it is EMP all these modern vehicles are toast. All the big 4×4 are gonna suck all your gas. A four wheeler can carry a fair among and dirt bike will go anywhere. Don’t forget roads and bridges will be blocked. For rural folk can’t beat a horse. But if u live in a city. Rent a storage building next to your home. Get a four wheeler or dirt bike. Easier way to get out of dodge

I can guarantee gm never used the 5.7 in military diesels. The 6.2 is not a converted gas engine and is gm, not caterpillar.
Can carry way more gear than a jeep, and goes forever on a tank of fuel.
Try to feed a horse through winter.
