When It Comes To SHTF, Some Things Are All Time Consuming. Not THIS. Save Time And Learn A Clever Trick That You Can Show Off To Your Prepper Friends!
Okay, steel wool on a windshield is a horrible idea. That's what everybody with common sense knows without a doubt. But keep an open mind and you'll find that that is not exactly correct.
Using superfine steel wool is actually a well-known windshield-cleaning trick among car detailers, and it makes their lives a lot easier because it works.
Their time is valuable, because the faster they can get done polishing the dead bugs from your window, the faster they can get moving on to the next vehicle, and the more money they can make.
So keeping that in mind, isn't your time valuable, too?
Learning how the pros do things is a great way to save time and to greatly reduce stress in your life. So how can you use steel wool to get your car windows to the ultimate clarity and shine?
Check out the video on the next page to learn this cool trick yourself.

No s**t
Your commnt is the only reason I even came and looked at the comments then i see people calling themselves professional fuckin window washers and cant stop laughing
Gotta try that!
Oh
The article says “sand is harder than glass”
1) glass is made from sand their hardness is equal
2) sandpaper contains more metals and other mineral abrasives than sand, that’s why sandpaper scratches glass.
Carry on..
Yes, that’s what I said
Good luck getting paint off your window with a dryer sheet lol
And afterward to clean it out it in the microwave on high for five minutes
When TSHTF the last thing I’ll be worried about is my windshield.
I already learned NOT to do this when I was detailing my dads truck as a teen. Steel wool on windshield got it clean and scratched the$#%&!@*out of it too! Great IDEA….
How about you guys boycott the NFL and I just keep NOT watching it EVER.
I’ve been using steel wool on glass for 30 years you just have to be sure it’s 000
I use 0000 on my chrome wheels all the time , works like a charm.
That idea has been out since the 60’s maybe longer
Great to know when SHTF lol
Amberly N’kol Pena
Definitely wanna do this for the FJ ! Can’t stand the stuck on bugs !
I still have a huge roll of 4ought steel wool from my detailing days. I go cut a chunk off every once and a while and clean my windows real good. Windex and that are also real good for cleaning
Chrome up.

I boycotted the NFL my whole life cause A) it’s fucking stupid b) it’s nothing more than a gladiatorial event to keep you distracted and happy with your servitude. It’s a tribal thing where men are not men. Instead of skinning a buck, running a trout line and actually contributing to a tribe. It’s funny how you wear another man’s name on your back, watch from the sidelines as nothing productive is done but you getting drunk yelling go go go…
C) it’s still fucking retarded.
D) sit, stand or kneel to show your support for the anthem…:)
Shtf approved right here son.
Great move to sell eindsheilds
No, it doesn’t. Steel wool gets of the road grim better than any paper or cloth product can.
I thought everyone knew that! I learned it working at a service station when I was 13.!
Just don’t used it to wash your car. Windows are fine but not the painted parts
Trevon Adkins
Learned this 30 years ago from older body men.
It works great. Learned this working at a dealership after high school. They said only windows as it will scratch mirror as its a softer glass. I never tested that it scratches mirror…
I’ve done this and it’s amazing!
Why the$#%&!@*would I care about cleaning my windshield when shtf? Stupid
If your body/paint guys are getting over spray on anything, you going to the wrong place… Lol sincerely, a painter
I have been using this hack for over 20 years works awesome on chrome too! Just make sure it’s real metal not chromed plastic!
If you’ve never had overspray that’s slipped past the masking and ended up on a window.. you’ve never painted in a production environment, and/or haven’t painted much.
You wrap and spray 10-20 repairs a day.. there’s gonna be overspray on something!
Sincerely,
Head of the Detail Dept. for one of the largest paint and body shops in the state of NM.
Needs to be like #0000
Cool
I’ll stick with polish
Christian Riley use a brand new straight blade scraping razor it will get the sap off then finish with the wool
Rubbing your windshield with steel wool will scrat h the$#%&!@*out of it Are people really that fucking stupid?
Bryce Simon
Takes all the bull$#%&!@*off. Now use rainX with it even better
0000 steel wool, or the one with the most 0s
Clay Bar is better
That’s why they make 36″ paper and plastic dude. I’m not a detailer…. I’m a production painter lol
Jeremy Bryan , so you’re telling me.. as a production painter.. you’ve NEVER, not even once, in all the paint you’ve laid.. that no repair has ever had overspray when the car’s been unwrapped? GFTO here with that nonsense.. I worked with some great painters and paint prep guys. And every now and then detail has to deal with overspray it’s part of the biz bro.. it happens and retailers deal with it.
Old glass is thicker on the bottom because you don’t put heavy thick$#%&!@*on top of light fragile$#%&!@*unless you want it to break. Glass is a liquid the same way sand is a liquid; it fucking isn’t
80 grit sand paper works better
Richard Gorospe is this true?
I tried in on the CLK with #0000 wool and it did not remove all of the hard water stains that were on the windows. Maybe 10% was removed.
Richard Gorospe wtf so that shiet dont work lol
Wont work on hard water stains. Works for light stain like paint overspray on windows.
