(Video) This Swimming Hole Contains a Very Mysterious and Dangerous Secret…

swimming hole

Somewhere out in the wilderness is a swimming hole known as Jacob's Well. It was discovered sometime in the 1850s and since then has been a hotspot for people to gather for a nice cool dip.

What makes Jacob's Well special is the fact that it is an enormous natural spring in which thousands of gallons of pure water rush to the surface every minute, making it a substantially large and rare phenomenon.

There is a dark side to this story, though. Since the swimming hole's discovery, there have been 9 confirmed deaths and countless injuries. Usually, these result from careless jumping and misjudging distances.

However, divers frequently make forays down into the depths of the Well. What they find is shocking.

If someone goes under because of injury or cramp they will just keep on going down, and unless someone is right there to save them immediately, they’ll be lost. Other swimming holes aren’t that deep.

All these folks say if trump gets the office we will be at war. What kind of dumbass doesn’t realize we been at war for over 30 years with one group or another. It doesn’t matter who gets in war is imminent at this point no matter what.

I live about a mile from Jacobs Well. Been in it many times. The one weird thing that I noticed is that anywhere there are springs in the hill country you can find flint flakes left behind by native Americans making arrowheads. However, I’ve searched for hours around the well and never saw a single flake. A quarter mile downstream there are arrowheads and flint everywhere. Hmmm? Maybe the Indians thought it was creepy too!

Actually Thomas we have been at war for all but 23 years of our 240 year history

Because we have to pay taxes in times of war. What do you think the agenda has been?

9 deaths in over 150 years is not unusual, I would think. More people drown in the lake here in a year – in fact, any lake I’ve heard of has more deaths. Oh, and our lake was formed by burying a town, including a cemetery! Now, that’s a place to spin a scary story.

Is that the lake with the bell tower from a church still sticking outta the water?

I don’t know about that. I’m talking about Lake Murray in Lexington County, SC. The electric company flooded about 50 thousand acres almost 100 years ago. An entire town is under water. I have several relatives under the lake. They’ve got WWII aircraft down there also. The US Army used an island in the lake for bombing practice and some of the students crashed planes into the lake. The island is now called Bomber Island. This lake at one time was the largest man made lake in the US.

I’ve been there. Its 40 feet down and the water is clear as can be. More people have died in the cave system it enters to. Bout 3 or so known miles of them. People get lost and trapped. They don’t allow that$#%&!@*now without permits to do so from the state. But it used to be private. They donated the land. So now you get State Park rangers telling you not to jump off the rocks.

Maybe we are fortunate here that the lake water is murky not clear. Perhaps that cuts down on the curious diving to have a look. There is a scuba diving school on the lake and people dive quite often. I’ve heard there are cars, buildings, houses, tombstones, churches – you name it and the occasional casket that floats to the top!

The only mystery is why people still think they can cave dive there.

My family lived near this spot.. I have swam in it several times.. The gentleman that owned the property before it was donated is a family friend. He is also an ex rescue diver in the military. The stories he would tell about the people he had helped recover out of here was astonishing.

Used to live on Eagle Rock Ranch. Cyprus Creek runs right through it . We used to dive from the cliff into the opening.Water would pour out of the ‘well’ fast enough to shoot us into the air. This was over fifty years ago. Looks like the water has quit flowing now.

I would love to dive to the first room.

I do not have the skills necessary to go past there.
