Just about every survivalist has a “bug-out” plan, a strategy for what to do when a survival crisis hits and it becomes necessary to move to a safer locale (or even to “bug-in”).
Less considered is where to go beyond “the camp” or some other predesignated safe space.
Is your bug-out location optimal for long-term survival? What obstacles and threats exist that would affect your quality of life? Where is the optimal place to go?
Those types of questions typically do not get asked, particularly if you already have a bug-out location in mind or in hand.
But knowing where to go in a survival situation or its aftermath is as important as knowing how to get there.
To find out one writer's opinion on where the optimal places to head in a survival situation are, check out the next page.

We have a well, a generator, solar if needed, all set up for anything and we will last longer than 3 days and we are in Arizona
Stay out out wv..we have enough out of state jackasses coming here.. we are redneck canibals remember..
I have lived in California. This is disaster waiting to happen. My goal is to get out of here as soon. Just a little more prep to go.
You are making my point Diana Partridge. Your generator will allow you access to the water until your fuel runs out
Michael Vetter
Right behind you, Pam.
Some of these states have NO water source!
Good luck taking over my homeland north idaho.
Anton, 48 really? I grew up in northern CA, ya know the part you’ve apparently never seen, where it definitely does get below 48. It snows, freezes, you need heat. But a lot of the other points are true
Flee into my neck of the woods when the SHF, and you’ll be on the menu. *hint my state was #2.
And we eat outsiders.
Bob Barclay me too
Take utah off the list we have all the folks we want lol
I already know where I’m headed…and dammit Johnson don’t shoot
just stay the hell outta montana
A crap load of texans have guns and can legally shoot you for trespassing ..plus we dont take$#%&!@*..im staying right here
Lol im from Idaho and trust me you wont be coming here if crap hits the fan. We have 12.5 guns per household and we dont like “others”. Anyone from here disputes that either lives in boise (liberal) or is living amongst the real patriots (not liberal) and will be dealt with when said action accures. PS Montana, Wyoming, eastern wa and or are the same.
Sierra Nevada too!
The wall around California
Like we tell anyone about our guns …lol that the original Republican Snowflake’s waving their$#%&!@*around like fools .those pussys will not last a week
You won’t take in a couple of California, Deplorable refugees? There are actually more here than you think. You should understand that our government has pretty much pushed an invasion on the people of California. Sanctuary cities, Obama allowed illegal immigrants a right to get a license to drive and told them to vote. The rest of us law abiding citizens got slammed and didn’t stand a chance. Otherwise, California very well may have turned red. At least real close.
In fact, I’m going to try to get out of here. Unless Trump and the government turn things around, we may as well give California up. I would hate to see that.
Whoever wrote this is retarded
Funny… all the comments. I’m not saying a damn thing. I’ll just sit here, and read.
Vermont
Nope…will stay right here in the mountains of east Tn. I know these woods and there are places that no one will go. There are places where we could hold off an army division w/ a good deer rifle.
I study this info when I can check out Safe Locations for USA States:
Chris Thomas Wakefield on tube he’s a but long winded but super in depth on every state. The best info I have found!
Us mere peasants out here will have to stay where we are. Most of us are screwed anyways but we that have been homeless or in poverty know how to survive and it will be interesting to watch all the ones that judges us stand in food lines
I was born and raised here in Vermont. I know the area better than I would anywhere else.
Has anyone brought in semi cattle trucks from the Midwest for the inauguation, to put in all those people who disturb the election with riots and disorderly conduct? It would be a great holding pen until the election is over and they pay fines to be released. Thinking 500-700 people per semi would contain a lot of riff-raff. Line the semi cattle trucks (double deckers) up on the right, left and in the back of the audience. These are huge cages that would stop any riot. If people can’t be civilized and act like wild animals, then treat them like one. Help our bikers protect our new President Trump!
Bring your own ammo…..
This person apparently don’t know us in the south we are all loaded and ready we might be country hicks but we will be the first to put some lead in that$#%&!@*to NC, SC, GA, and AL we are ready give us a try!
Don’t wash out.
Joe Witzel
Nicole Palacios
I’ll stay right where i am in Oregon thank you. Plenty of guns. We know how to survive in our mountains and the area I’m in we raised our children to know how to live off the land… We have very few snowflakes here. We’re safe!
Name calling helps or makes you feel better? How? Just curious. I have never understood how that worked.
Same with southwest VA. Probably the same terrain..
Yep….I am about 30 miles from Bristol….and I can see NC from here.
