Search the internet for instructions on building a survival shelter and you find that that your options are many.

Most of them are really cool and even look like it would be fun to stay a night or two in them, but let's face it – in a survival situation or SHTF moment, quick to construct, durable, strong and weather-proof are our only real priorities.

Oh, for most of us, or at least me (I'll admit it,) the construction has to be idiot-proof and it has to be durable enough to last several nights.

In fact, if the situation is dire enough, you may not have the luxury of building something your friends want to join you in for a night.

The shelter in the video on the next page is very primitive, but weather-proof, durable and best of all – anyone can build it.
