Picking out your survival tools is never an easy choice. Of course, you want something that'll work well every time, but you also don't want to break the bank.

With survival in mind, you may also want a variety of different methods to turn to in case your first choice doesn't work out for you. The same argument applies if you also want to make a variety of different survival kits for different situations (i.e. car survival, forest survival, urban survival, etc.).

As with all other areas of survival, these same rules apply to tools used for starting fires. If you don't have a reliable fire system, you may as well not have any other survival tools, either; it's that important. So what systems are the best?
