hammock tarp and fire during storm

It’s April of 2017 and Joe Robinet travels north to explore a new and unfamiliar area! After a nice three-hour hike, he takes us into the middle of the woods, a nice area with flying squirrels and what appears to be hawks of some kind flying above him. And a storm is coming in quick!

It may seem a little bleak at first but he has beer cooling in a nearby stream, food – including lamb! – in his bug-out bag and he’s hanging his hammock under what he hopes is the perfect, dry shelter!

As the thunder begins to sound, the lightning flashes, and the wind whips around him, Joe takes us through any number of survival practices with a sincere yet entertaining amount of observation, skill and an old fashion sum of hope and tenacity!

After the break go over to the next page and watch how Joe faces the elements and shows us some basics during a pending thunderstorm!

Don’t think for one second that you can go out and be in the rain and not get wet. Anyone who says you can is wrong. It’s better to have a plan for drying out than to have a plan for not getting wet. One of the best things to carry with you is the small, small can of WD40. Use it sparingly but keep your folding saw from rusting first, then everything else. It’ll also help you to get a fire going.
