It probably wouldn't be much of a stretch to say that a lot of us would love just to run into the wilderness for months or years at a time to escape the maddening realities of living with modern humans.

We like to see ourselves living off the land and coping effortlessly with everything nature has to throw at us. However, many of us never get to live out this fantasy. Life often gets in the way. If you have kids or bills to pay, it would be wholly irresponsible of you to abandon simply everything to go live in the woods for any length of time.

However, this guy decided that what he wanted to do was to shoot a television program that focuses on exactly that: a year in the woods without any outside help, to show people what it was like to have to move seamlessly from one season to the next.
