(VIDEO) They Live Off the Grid in Slab City. When You Learn More About This Community? Shocking!

Slab Off Grid City

Living off the grid can be freeing but it can also be a trial. If you are not up to the hard work and sacrifices it takes living in Slab City; living without running water or electricity, you may want to live elsewhere – but give it a look anyway! Living here is also great practice for when SHTF — you really won't need to change much since you're already living off the grid!

To us, it seems a little frightening and – well – a little dirty too. However, if it does what it says, gives people a second chance, then how can you argue with success?

No one said living off the grid was going to be easy and this is a good example of how it can go down. However, if you like your privacy, want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the outer world – and live off your wits while maintaining a sensation of freedom, than Slab City could be the place for you!

imo, there doesn’t seem to be any pride in living off the grid, just a free ride or squatting, to get out of paying off debt. Does anyone else feel like that with this video?

omg well yes they are called nasty street kids. living off the grid…water supply is a must of course in a healthy environment…Slab city in all its raw nature i am afraid to say the main attraction is not the people themselves (though they like to think so) its the weird art and eccentric colors and music. The water supply… which I was baffled to see this occurring but the people would pull water from the irrigation canal..which has fertilizer and crop spray of course in it. Most of the furniture you see is clean cuz of the burning hot sun but the ones not in the sun ….oh boy…..sit on one if you want an ifectio on your back a weird bacteria that takes the pigment from your skin…but all in all if you dont look at it under a micro glass of conformity. you’
