Sometimes survival is less about preparation and more about sheer luck and a strong will to survive. There are some people who survive situations they absolutely should not have. These are their stories.

Can you imagine surviving being cut in half? Or having your arm removed by a shark and then calmly swimming back to shore? Absolutely nobody should survive being put against the wall and riddled with bullets; not surviving is kind of the entire point.

Of course, there's surviving being hit by a bullet, and then there's surviving being hit in the head by a particle accelerator. That's just pure badassery. But some of the most amazing survival stories told are the ones in which the survivor withstands impossible odds without food or water and miraculously manages to make it home.
