The driver, with his honking horn, probably felt the way we did. Poor cow. Wish there was some way to save it. But, let’s face it, his fate was in the hands of God and that bear the moment he laid eyes on him. It is a sad thing but it is also a great survival lesson.
Do not take anything for granted, If you are hiking in woods that are known for having bears be cautious and, for heaven sake, keep your food stowed-away where it cannot be smelled. In other words, keep the Limburger cheese at a minimum if you do not want to end up like that unfortunate cow.
Read up on where the safest camp sites are. In the end, it’s great for the peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
