[VIDEO] Learn To Throw A Knife Without Spin

One skill that is easily learned and can be invaluable in a survival situation is the ability to throw a knife straight, on target and without spin.

While this skill is not something you will use often, it can be critical in hunting and catching game and self-protection.

The key to learning how to throw a knife accurately with no spin is your technique, adapting that technique when you need to do so and of course lots of practice.

One method of throwing a knife is called the Thorn Style of Throwing. This method uses your wrist and a unique grip to throw a knife of virtually any size accurately, with no spin and on target.

Watch the video on the next page and we'll show you how to learn this critical survival skill.

What’s good about knife spin? All it does is greatly increase your odds of failure, especially if you’re throwing from distances that you don’t normally practice.

Why would you take a chance of loosing your knife by throwing it if your in a survival situation ?

If somebody’s breaking into your house and the closest means to self defense is the knife block in the kitchen, why would you choose not to learn a skill or use it just because there’s a chance something could go wrong? There’s ALWAYS a chance of something bad happening, you might as well learn everything you can.

That’s a whole different situation. Before it was a survival situation and the knife you would be throwing is probably the only one you have now your talking about a kitchen full of knives. I’m not against having the knowledge and ability to throw a knife I’m just saying I’m not going to risk loosing my only knife and probably my primary tool to survive by throwing it.

Why on earth would you only have one knife in a survival situation? Moreover, once you learn this technique just about anything can be thrown as a weapon. You are painting a very narrow scenario for your SHTF no-knife-throwing rule.

Again, I’m not going to risk loosing probably my most valuable tool by throwing it. Even if I have 10. It’s not a renewable resource if it’s gone it’s gone!
Oh, and if someone’s breaking into my house their going to get shot not cut.
I didn’t intend this to become an argument, it’s my opinion just like yours. Everyone’s going to have theirs.

Being able to throw a bladed weapon as a last resort is always a handy skill to have. And being able to to that using different techniques is a bonus. How YOU throw it is totally up to you though. Using what works for you is the important part. If you can throw a bladed weapon with accuracy with a spin, then thrown it like that when push comes to shove. It’s all down to YOUR training.
