[VIDEO] Learn How To Make A Machete Without Using Power Tools

A machete is a very useful tool if you are in a survival situation – not only to clear brush, but also for self-defense.

Most machetes are jade using power tools – grinders, presses and machine tools, but you do not have to have a lot of money, skills or a professional shop to make a functional machete, or any other knife for that matter.

While it would be nice to have the tools necessary to make one, in a survival situation, lack of power, tools or even a place to work may force you to be resourceful.

As long as you can heat up your base piece of steel and can expend a little elbow grease – using hand saws, files, drills and hammers, you can make your own machete or any other knife.

The video on the next page shows will show you how its done!

Dig the video. I really like this kind of stuff since I am limited on power tools since there is a lack of plugs in the woods.

I have one made by an ex college roomate from Guatemala. Blades only 20″ long with a 9″ handle (for two handed swings). Blade is more than a 1/4″ thick and heavy. But it’ll slice threw just about anything and could easily double as an axe.
