One of the major challenges for any survivalist is how to preserve and store fuel.
With so many gas stations only selling fuel with ethanol, gasoline goes bad very quickly, so storing it in any large quantities becomes an issue.
But in a survival situation, particularly if you are using a gasoline generator for power, not to mention to power equipment such as chainsaws, vehicles, ATVs, etc., having a reasonable amount of spare fuel on hand is vital.
Obviously, the first thing you should do is look for a gas supplier that offers ethanol free fuel and you can usually locate that by conducting a search on the Internet.

I have a Honda van that sat on my driveway for 3 years with a bad transmission. It had a full tank of regular unleaded gas with no additive when it died. It sat through cold Indiana winters and hot summers. A couple weeks ago I had the transmission rebuilt. I was sure I would have to have the tank flushed. To my utter surprise, it runs like new..
