Almost as important as establishing supplies and food to outlast a SHTF situation is the almighty bug out bag. Ideally, this bag is ready to go whenever things start to go south so that you don't have to go digging through your stuff and throwing a bag together at the last minute.
Waiting until the last minute, as the vast majority of people do, often results in chaos on the freeways, which prevents anyone from evacuating.
One way you can ensure that you'll always be prepared is to keep an emergency kit in your vehicle at all times. This isn't one of those standard road kits with flares and a sub-par first aid kit. This is a fully stocked bug out bag for your car, so you're ready to go without a second to spare.
Learn how to put one of these kits together in the video on the next page.

You get arrested for carting around what you need so remember a locked case isn’t searchable without a warrant.
I used to spend the summers with my grandparents in NM and it was a given that every car had a cpl jugs of water, blankets, flares, jerky, some canned goods etc… In the trunk. They weren’t peppers that’s just how you roll when you live in the desert.
