(Video) How to Put Together a Homemade Vertical (A-Frame) Hydroponic System

A-frame

The benefit of hydroponics is that you do not need a ton of soil and if you plan your system out well, you do not need a ton of space.

By utilizing PVC pipe and a simple pumping system, suspended on an A-frame made of 2 x 4's, this guy has an amazing system that is easy to assemble, disassemble and maintain.

This A-frame hydroponics growing system holds about 140 basil plants, but you can grow just about anything in a hydroponic system if you plan it correctly.

In a survival situation, this type of setup would allow you to grow vegetables without needing a huge garden plot or lots of soil; in a pinch, you could grow it on a porch or even indoors if you have the appropriate lighting.

How could you modify this system to handle larger and more robust plants? Let us know your thoughts below.

is this still a good idea with mature plants? Or do they need to be moved once established?
