(Video) How to Make Long-Term MRE’s for Pennies

Ready to Vaccume Seal

You can make some mouth-watering dishes if you prepare them well in advance and truly think about what your family likes to eat! And remember, it is far less expensive than a store-bought MRE!

In other words, if ever you were thinking about getting a vacuum sealer now may be the time. There are many brands out there but be certain you are getting a good one, maybe one recommended by a friend or fellow prepper, where you can buy the bags yourself. Out of experience, we bought a sealer that required us to buy their brand of bags and after a few weeks, air got into our MREs! The sealer was useless because its bags were faulty!

MREs will be a vital part of your diet during a disaster so make sure your pantry is loaded and an alternate way of cooking them is available!

I wonder if he included the cost of the food saver and bags…still, 1 gallon of soup for under a buck is pretty sweet!
