[VIDEO] How To Make A Dakota Fire Hole In Nature

The Dakota fire hole is an amazing method of cooking in a survival moment or SHTF moment. It has remarkable advantages over traditional cooking methods, is easy to make and you'll be shocked at how effective it can be.

Using two holes connected by a tunnel, the Dakota fire hole uses the principle of natural ventilation to fan the fire and produce a surprising amount of heat.

Best of all, if you have fire making technology you can construct a Dakota fire hole with virtually no tools, even your bare hands and be able to start cooking as soon as you get your fire started.

Done properly, a Dakota fire hole can use to cook anything from us to boil liquids or even cook small game.

On the next page, we show you how to make the Dakota fire hole.

5:15 seconds to make water boil + the time to dig the two holes and process the wood you’re looking at around 20 minutes minimum (realistically more like 30 minutes). I could boil water with a regular camp fire in less then 15 minutes…from scratch. The dakota fire hole is a joke.

Bet you $1000 that I could spot/smell your standard camp fire over my Dakota fire hole.

Oh no! You’ll know I’m cooking something. Woe is me.

Seriously, the guy in the video makes a big deal about how fast water boils over it but honestly I didn’t think it was very fast…especially considering all the work that needs to be done beforehand. The only selling point of this method is that the fire is harder to detect from outsiders.

That’s the only thing this fire is useful for. Then again, it’s easy to start in very windy conditions too, and cleanup is as simple as filling in the hole
