(VIDEO) How to Fix a Broken Fishing Rod and Reinforce It Using a Method From Over 30 Years Ago

repairing a fishing rod

This fisherman found a method in a fishing magazine that's over thirty years old! That just goes to show you that older ways of repairing things will stick around for years to come. Check out this effective way to repair a fishing rod:

Using an older rod to replace the tip of another rod is an excellent way to use what you have instead of buying a new fishing pole. It may take a few tries to get the measurements currently and make sure everything fits properly, but by reusing what you have, you should have a like new fishing rod that'll catch you some great fish.

If you have only one fishing rod that you plan on bringing with you when SHTF, consider throwing in an older rod just in case. That way in case one breaks you'll have another way to reinforce the other or vise versa.

It also may not hurt to purchase a broken rod or to ask an avid fisherman friend if he has broken rods laying around as opposed to spending a lot of money on a new one so you'll have the parts when you need them.
