In a survival situation, you never know when you will need a knife. Or, more accurately, you never know in what way you will need a knife.
Indeed, you will be using it to set up camp, to cut through kindling and cord, or using a knife for any hack that might come up while surviving out in the wilderness.
However, in this case, we are focusing on throwing your knife. Whether you come across and attacking animal or hordes of rampaging zombies (just kidding), you will want to have the capability of throwing a knife accurately to get the best hit.
