There's nothing wrong with using firearms for your weapon of choice when SHTF. But the great thing about bows is that arrows can be fired over and over again and you can simply make more when you run out of them. One area of concern may be the lack of lethal distance in a bow. As it turns out, that fear may be unfounded. Check out the video below to see just how far out these weapons can kill.
Of course, as with any ranged weapon, you'll need a great deal of practice in order to become accurate enough to depend on your bow to make shots over 50 yards. Still, that's a pretty good distance to rely upon. For hunting, it's perfect.
If you and your survival companions get into a turf battle with some other survivors, it looks like you can rely on your bows to launch some volleys of arrows from over 100 yards and still have lethal force. If you haven't already, maybe you should pick up a bow and a few dozen arrows to add to your arsenal.

Cool stuff Eric, I bow hunt with a Hoyt Contender Elite. Which normally is a target competition compound bow.
It is only set at 54 lbs. Yet it definitely is deadly out to even a hundred yards with 12 ” groups.
Even so, the man is correct that even with my setup, beyond 25-30 yds is not ethical. Even though many will shoot and kill at 50 yds. Question is…how many deer are shot at 50 yds, and only wounded to die later ?
