One area of concern for long-term survival is the field of weaponry. While many preppers and survivalists will immediately turn to firearms for their first choice in personal protection and hunting when SHTF, there are those who will seek to turn to more traditional means for their weapons.
For many, this will mean a crossbow, which will allow great range and accuracy. For others, this means a bow. The great thing about a bow is that it's quiet, which is perfect for hunting when you don't want to give away your position to others who may be in the area.
The other great thing about a traditional hunting bow is that it's extremely lethal, even at long ranges.

Cool stuff Eric, I bow hunt with a Hoyt Contender Elite. Which normally is a target competition compound bow.
It is only set at 54 lbs. Yet it definitely is deadly out to even a hundred yards with 12 ” groups.
Even so, the man is correct that even with my setup, beyond 25-30 yds is not ethical. Even though many will shoot and kill at 50 yds. Question is…how many deer are shot at 50 yds, and only wounded to die later ?
