Paracord strands can hold up to about 50 pounds.
String them together and you have a fishing line that while not fully 50-pound test, will be able to handle just about any fish you can hook if played properly.
Ideally, you have a full fishing kit or at least a survival kit at your disposal in a survival situation; if not, you have options, particularly if you have a 550 paracord.
Strung together, the strands of cord can hold about 50 pounds a piece – more than enough for most fish you will catch.
You can also use paracord to make fishing lures which means you have the basics of a fishing kit!
