One major challenge to getting through a survival situation is securing your own food.

Food is obviously important to your well-being, but if you find yourself stranded with little more than a few days worth of rations, you will eventually have to figure out how to feed yourself.

One great tool you have at your disposal is paracord, or more specifically, the strands of cord that in a typical 550 type of paracord can hold about 50 pounds of weight a piece.

These strands can be fashioned into a snare, net or fishing line, which in a survival situation, are three ways you can secure food for yourself.
