If you’ve already been holding onto your wine bottles you are a step ahead of everyone else. Most of you are probably using them for target practice but think outside the box: Torches, legs for shelving, lamps and even a rolling pin! Take a look:

We really like the shoe shelve our host created. We would love to see it done on a bigger scale maybe as a wall unit. While we understand the glass of the bottle would not hold up to a hundred pound bag of grain being tossed on them we can think of many other homesteading things that can be shelved on those wine bottles and scrap wood!

While it was not mentioned, we also think a corked wine bottle could make a great container – once cleaned and scrubbed – for any number of dried spices from the garden, salt, baking powder and soda, and even gun powder! In other words, do not throw away that wine bottle yet. It could become a life-hack life saver!
