While most people wouldn't dream of going into the woods without so much as a knife, it has been known to happen on occasion, particularly when people had no intention of going into the woods in the first place (think stranded in broken down vehicle or a plane crash). Luckily, by following the tips below, you can learn to make a knife which will be more than capable of helping you out.

While crafting a knife from a stone may not be an ideal option, and may lead to bruised fingertips and bloody knuckles, at times it is the only option you will have. When that time comes, you will probably be pretty happy that you had taken the time to learn this skill which has largely been lost to time. With it, you can craft a shelter, gather firewood, take down game and even gut a fish.
