Not everyone has their own bit of land where they can build a house and home but for those preppers, survivalists, homesteaders and bush-crafters that do or plan to, take a look at what Kris Harbour has done! It’s an amazing place that, made of wood, can actually hide in the background of the forest!

Temporary shelter is one thing but it looks like this home is being built for the long-haul. We like his tenacity and that Kris is constantly thinking about his next move.

While a round house may not be for everyone it is obviously something he has thought about and wanted to try for some time. Considering all of the back-breaking labor Kris is going through we think this was more than a whim. However, it is moving along quite quickly and we know, should the grid go down, this man and his family will be well-covered during those lean times.

What about wood rot? Do you treat the wood in any way to keep ants, termites and other insects out of it?

If you have porch and stack wood around it in double stacks it will help block SOME of the heat and cold from getting to the cabin thus helping maintain temperature inside.
