(VIDEO) For an Ancient Survival Tool, This Iceman Coppe Axe Blade Tops the List! It’s INSANE!

Iceman Coppe Axe blade

Axes have been around for thousands of years and have served as one of the most useful tools you could have for the entirety of that period.

This is proven through the discovery of Otzi the Ice Man and the incredible copper ax he had in his possession when he died. For a fun project, you can learn how to craft this ax yourself in the video below.

Unfortunately, Otzi's impressive ax couldn't save him from the fury of his fellow men; scientists believe he bled out from an arrow wound to his shoulder.

While the copper blade wouldn't be able to stand up to today's modern steels, the ax design is nonetheless an impressive display of ingenuity that would serve very well in cutting down small saplings for tools or building material and was probably also used for skinning animals.

This is a great video that shows how ax blades, at their core, haven't changed much over the millenia.

What brings you to this conclusion? How do you explain Otzi’s copper axe?

They said they were going to show how it was made. I did not expect anything used from the iron age. And it was more likely copper was found raw and not smelted from a ton of rock.
And the type of casting sand used was developed in modern times as well.
