Having a lighter means you can start a fire. It's that simple. Unfortunately, carrying a lighter safely isn't always as simple as you would think. That's why this guy started modifying his lighters to make them more useful. Take a look at some of his mods below.

Above all, probably one of our favorite mods in this video is that of the red and white lighter.

This modification of taking a white Bic lighter and wrapping a band of red tape around the top means you have a two-toned lighter which allows you to diffuse light in two different ways: white to make your flashlight softer in your tent, or red to preserve your night vision.

Wrapping the gas switch with a zip tie is also a great idea so that you don't waste your gas and make the inside of your bag flammable in the process.
