(VIDEO) Bring Your Prepper Skills to the Next Level With This Upside Down Fire Technique!

Building a fire can be easy and quick, or it can be supremely difficult and take hours; it all depends on the methods used and the level of skill you wield. For an easy fire that you can just “set and forget” (but don't leave it unattended), check out the video below.

What makes this fire different is that it burns downwards, rather than upwards, eating through larger and larger chunks of wood as it makes its way down. While this may seem counterintuitive, as heat rises and therefore flames are inclined to burn upwards, this method is excellent if you want to have a steady heat that burns at roughly the same rate, rather than constantly climbing and flaring through new chunks of wood you toss on.

It is also much easier to light because the tinder and kindling will be at the top and easily accessible, although you will have to shield it much more from the wind.

This is an excellent little fire hack for anyone looking to add a new fire method to their repertoire.
