U.S. Nuclear Target Map! Find Out Who Lives in the Zones.

target map

We rather enjoy looking at certain maps. They tell us so many things, including where restaurants and parks are if you are on a road-trip. But when you are looking at a nuclear target map that enjoyment pretty much goes out of the window!

It is really rather intriguing, learning about where you live in terms of the results of a nuke attack, and seeing how you will fare. Yet, it is also sobering and, if you have a bug-out shelter or bomb shelter in a drop zone, a little deflating to know you probably will not make it out alive. In other words, you may want to check out those safe zones a little more carefully!

We suggest you give the map a look then, after that, you may want to show it to your family and friends. It’s not just important but at least you know you let them know the odds and they can make up their own minds!

Go check out the map over on the next page!

Roswell N.M. Is on that map, Walker Air Force base was decommissioned in the 70’s when I was a kid, all the missile silos north and east of town were also abandoned years ago, the only thing that could still make it a target is the runways. I would say it’s a secondary target at best.
Now for the funny part, they left off Cannon AFB in Clovis, N.M., the old Kirkland AFB in Albuquerque, Los Alamos national labs and Davis Monthan AFB is Tucson, Az.

This map seriously makes me laugh. The biggest and only targets that would get nukes are major government centers (Washington D.C.) and large military installations. Populated areas and most major ports would be left alone. They are not key military assets.

Yeah, I’d just think there would other cities too. Like Pittsburgh, Philly, etc.

BS. Why isn’t San Diego on this? Largest base and west coast fleet. 4 carriers and Man many subs.

Hah – I checked on that before I moved to Missouri! They’re supposed to be building one west of y’all in Alabama – fallout from it would get to y’all! I don’t know if they started working on it again. Can’t remember the name

Old data. None of the silos in Missouri are active. Whiteman is still an active base, but other than Ft. Leonard Wood (not a high value target) I just don’t see this many nukes targeting Missouri. Same with Montana.

If you compare this map to the map of areas trump won in the election its not that bad

if they can get it across the US I would thing that the Oklahoma and Texas border along the Red River makes a better target. For several reason, but will not put on the net, Except one reason three training bases and military depot.

Actually nukes are considered first strike weapons intended on crippling or destroying a nations military force….

    I don’t buy it
You know they will totally target the eastern seaboard which includes NYC
    And Texas

That’s wrong. The entire center of Colorado and north will glow in the dark for millenia. 😉

Hmmm, no blasts in San Diego, Fort Worth nor Fort Mccoy WI. Yeah right!

Considering the Russians and Chinese have thousands of warheads still, I’d say the whole US is a target.

    This isn’t an accurate map.
I live near Ft Bragg, NC…and we have been classified as First Strike for my whole life. There’s no reason to assume otherwise.

San Diego and Los Angeles are more likely to be hit than us here in Menifee because of all their military bases….

It’s great to have a place to shelter yourself and family, but what are you going to do if you are at work when it happens? Might try making a list of temporary spots to hold up in for a few days just in case. Like a short term bob and culverts.

You forgot Crane Naval Weapons Center in Southern Indiana
You know the place they store the nerve gas .. ..

  19. Gordon Lee Bowling said:

You all missed Dayton Ohio !! Wright Patterson Air Force base is a very important military entity. Home of the Global Hawk program..

It’s funny how these maps always ignore the largest air force base and the 3 largest stores and producers of nuclear tech and warfare tech

  21. Linda Gagnon-Guthrie said:

No nerve gas there, was removed about 20 yrs. ago, was sent to be destroyed. However, there are enough ‘heavy’ loads in there that if Crane got hit most of the surrounding areas wouldn’t have much left to worry about. Mostly Crane is an Engineering & Testing facility, opening it’s resources to public/private businesses is how it managed to aviod closure during Clinton’s huge military budget cuts.

Unfortunately was privileged to see the reports of containers (worn…) leaking @ an outpost disposal depo. Was part of my ‘Job’ to alerted & informed… I’ve seen & heard things that would turn most people sheet white… trust me, those gallon drums are the least of our worries.
