U.S. Nuclear Target Map! Find Out Who Lives in the Zones.

target map

We rather enjoy looking at certain maps. They tell us so many things, including where restaurants and parks are if you are on a road-trip. But when you are looking at a nuclear target map that enjoyment pretty much goes out of the window!

It is really rather intriguing, learning about where you live in terms of the results of a nuke attack, and seeing how you will fare. Yet, it is also sobering and, if you have a bug-out shelter or bomb shelter in a drop zone, a little deflating to know you probably will not make it out alive. In other words, you may want to check out those safe zones a little more carefully!

We suggest you give the map a look then, after that, you may want to show it to your family and friends. It’s not just important but at least you know you let them know the odds and they can make up their own minds!

Go check out the map over on the next page!

We have early warning alerts and satellites, plus an understanding if any country nuked us it there would be full retaliation on the “senders.” It’s called nuclear proliferation.

Plattsburgh Ny airbase shouldn’t be listed anymore we haven’t had an airbase here since 1995.

Gary Trout , actually Amarillo would be a primary target because of the old Amarillo AFB. They had one of the longest runways in the country and was used for SAC bombers. That runway is now part of Rick Husband International Airport.

This map is wrong! Okc is like the 2nd or 3rd target to hit because of Tinker AFB. The largest maintenance depot the air force has to fix planes.

Still trying to figure out what target is in the boot-heel of Missouri/ northeast arkansas blytheville area.

Well im fucked cuz i go between California and montana……..both are the highest levels. Great

  7. Jesse Shubin said:

True, but in a tactical stand point going for our nuclear weapons would be the best choice so those towns/cities would be priority to me vs some podunk towns of 50,000 and another 20,000 surroubding it

You know there are good people that live in California and my family is some of them and they are not democrats so maybe you should keep your evil comments to yourself.

I think this map is old but they would still be on the target package..they could blanket the US with no problem.

Right? Lots of company’s ares based in Seattle, lots of people, the ports/shipping terminals, and fort Lewis/ McCord air field, would make Seattle a probable target.

If you knew anything about New York, most of upstate New York are republican/ conservatives like myself but unfortunately New York City speaks for the while state. There’s lots of good people here.

NAS Dallas was decommissioned back in ’98, but we still have dfw intl airport. That prolly keeps us on the map

  13. Erik Gregory said:

Noah Motion that’s true we have an airport now, but the base is obviously closed and all of the ICBM silos are empty and decommissioned. In fact they were sold and people made houses out of them.

Radiation blows in the wind currents so were all screwed no matter what.

Oregon, Arizona and West Virginia are the only states without blue. Well then

It don’t matter where you live. Nuclear fallout, nuclear winter, famine and pestilence will kill us all. I would rather be at the point of impact and get it over with.

The dot is more for the old Plattsburgh AFB. Yes even though the base has been closed since 1995, and is now the home to Plattsburgh Int’l Airport, the Airforce still could use the runway which is just about 12,000 ft long and also had the biggest ramp space to handle the B-52 Bombers. If such attack were to occur in the U.S., the Airforce would then use that airport for refueling and staging for the Bombers,

Also up in Alburgh, VT, there used to be a missile silo for the Ballistic Missiles back in the late 1950’s very early 1960’s. There also used to be a Strategic Air Base up in St. Albans, VT back in the 1940’s to 1960’s to track for incoming missiles. The old radar dome is still visible from the interstate. The radar dome is now being used for the national weather service.

  21. Denis Boucher said:

That is trrue because I used to be stationed there from 1997 – 2003 with the 654th CLSS squadron. That base does the major overhaul of all of the bombers in the Airforce’s fleet.

  22. Denis Boucher said:

Barksdale AFB, LA is home to one of the Airforce biggest fleet of B-52 Bombers.

  23. Denis Boucher said:

That is true. I used to be stationed there from 1997 – 2003 with the 654th CLSS. The base does all of the major overhaul for maintenance of all of the Bombers in the Airforces fleet.

  24. Rhona Field said:

They probably need to update the map. No more titan missiles in AR

  25. William Yzerman said:

you need to couple this with a meteorological map detailing prevailing wind patterns based on time of year. just because you may be outside of a red zone doesn’t mean you are necessarily safe from potential fallout effects

  26. Adrian Medrano said:

It’s not the populous areas that are targeted, it’s the strategic military installations, bases, weapons, and aerospace manufacturers that are. Either way this map is wrong.

  27. Patrick McLean said:

It depends also on what they are targeting. Key points of industry. No probably not. Strategic military? Well they left off Dom of the key bases? Population centers? Again they skipped key targets.
If it came to wipe is out strategy? They have enough weapons to target every square mile of Alaska and the lower 48 plus Hawaii. So don’t kid yourself. Unless your prepared to live deep underground for 3-5 years. We are done.
But far more likely is terrorists getting ahead of a dozen or so warheads and picking specific places. So figure NY and DC both gone. Then probably the ten most populated cities.
But yeah if WW3 happens. North America is flat gone. But we have enough to do the same to them. Just from our sub fleet alone.

  28. Douglas Brown said:

Soviet thinking could care less about strategic targets as much as people left over they will need to deal with later. Pointless discussion.

  29. Jeremy Allred said:

Huntsville AL the MDA complex it was built so they could run the country from there if needed.

  30. Kristopher Crowley said:

I would of thought the west coast would have more targets. Considering its a high population area.
