When we were kids we grew up around Eucalyptus trees and loved them. They were tall and naturally beautiful! We could never quite understand why our Dad disliked them so much. Every Autumn he brought out his ladder and cutters and went to town, cutting on the Eucalyptus trees, muttering the entire time.
Poor Dad was, as it turned out, allergic to the oils coming from our trees and he always broke out in a nasty rash when he was finished pruning them. As it turns out he was not the only one! The Eucalyptus really is not a very family friendly tree and that got us to thinking about others that we may love when looking at them in nature but probably really should not be planted in your front or backyard!
