Tips For Making Fire In The Snow Or Damp Conditions

 

We selected this video working under the assumption that even the most inexperienced survivalist understands how to find tinder and wood to start a fire in any condition.

Knowing how to set up those materials, however, is almost more important as having them on hand.

There is nothing worse than being in a survival situation in wet and cold conditions and not being able to start a fire for warmth.

These tips are just a few of many to make sure you can always start a fire, no matter the conditions.

    Craziest best tool I saw was a section of the body of an aluminum arrow, with surgical tubing attached. Push the arrow into the hot spot in the fire you are begging to start, then blow into the hose. It was amazing how well that worked.

    Built a fire in the middle of a snow storm, took about 14 minutes but I had a fire. All you have to do is plan, look at your surroundings and gather material as you go. Cat tail goes up like gasoline, very effective for starting a fire in extreme circumstances. Just my 2 cents.
