You hear the stories all of the time, how a weekend warrior will go into the woods, ill-equipped for what he or she might find there, and run into something unexpected and lethal. There is a great deal of unknowns in the wilderness and while, as survivalists, we would like to think we are prepared for the worst, it is not always the case.

For instance, if you were stung by a scorpion what would you do? Some of you might know but there are many different kinds of this beastie. A few are quite lethal while others are relatively harmless. But how do you really know what you are up against if you have not done your research?

Just a word of caution, even if you think you know for sure that the scorpion or any other critter, is safe you might still want to get to the doctor ASAP! No point in tempting fate!

Snakes are another scary consideration and all kinds can be found in the woods. Learning identification now, before you find yourself face to face with a Black Mamba is key!
