The Best States to Head to When All Hell Breaks Loose

best-places-to-bug-out-in-the-united-states

Just about every survivalist has a “bug-out” plan, a strategy for what to do when a survival crisis hits and it becomes necessary to move to a safer locale (or even to “bug-in”).

Less considered is where to go beyond “the camp” or some other predesignated safe space.

Is your bug-out location optimal for long-term survival? What obstacles and threats exist that would affect your quality of life? Where is the optimal place to go?

Those types of questions typically do not get asked, particularly if you already have a bug-out location in mind or in hand.

But knowing where to go in a survival situation or its aftermath is as important as knowing how to get there.

To find out one writer's opinion on where the optimal places to head in a survival situation are, check out the next page.

I think we, many, have it backwards here. We know where they are.at? Yes? We need to ban together and GO GETUM! Stop touting how many.rifles you have to take to shelter…Put them to use.
It is kind of like the bundle of sticks.. ONE ALONE WILL BREAK….PUT THEM ALL TOGETHER AND THEY ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO BREAK.

Weird, Iowa has a dot on that map.. but it’s not mentioned in the article. Probably because that dot is also very close to a proposed fema camp.

If you like lots of snow, no power quiet alot of the winter, stores closed, roads closed, blower shut, no water, no food, and high living prices!!! Idaho is not a good place to come if the SHTF!!!!! The people don’t like outsiders and your treated awful, and everyone packs guns, and they won’t hesitate to use them ever!!!

Would it not depend on the crisis? Power grid failure more options. Yellowstone blows well don’t head out west, etc

Pretend Wyoming doesn’t exist. It would be better that way. I doubt many could survive the winters here as is.

So does Idaho. Everyone moves here and brings there attitudes and think they can change the way we Idaho people live and we don’t take kindly to that crap. And all it does is pass us off. There isn’t anything, or any work here either. Just alot of people that don’t like outsiders!!!

  16. Cristian Ortiz said:

Lies! us people of Idaho love outsiders.

By the time you need to bug out to one of the top 5 states, keep in mind, that when you arrive, you will be in more danger than the place you left.

As sad as it may sound in a true SHTF situation, the last thing you will encounter is “friendly” irregardless of where you go. Sorry to bust the ‘We are the world, cant we all just get along” false reality but when true survival is the order of the day only those with e true mentality of Do What it takes to Survive, will survive. Just FYI, the liberal we hate guns and defend your self with a smile and some harsh words group as well as the ‘Superfit” health nuts will be the first to go. Aint a Jamba Juice and a colon cleanse with Whey grass in the apocalypse folks.

Yea starting to have that same issue here in Texas too. they generally dont last long though, especially the We hate the 2A group,,,

  21. Jason A. Huff said:

Kinda yes and kinda no. The average American does not have a supply of food, water or medical needs to last even 7 days much less 30 0r more, further they do not possess the skill set to be able to hunt/gather for themselves to survive. This is the outcome of 40 years of technology and “advancement” which in a scenario such as this would basically render most people useless.
