Survival Fishing Techniques And Tips You Need To Know

In a survival situation, protein is important, but so is saving calories; hunting takes a lot of time and calories, but fishing, in most settings, is relatively easy and does not waste a ton of calories searching for food.

The video below has some great tips for using your surroundings to increase your chances of catching fish.

Ideally, if you find yourself in a survival situation, you have the appropriate tools to ensure you can feed yourself, but in some situations, the circumstances will leave you with less than ideal equipment.

When that happens, fishing is an ideal way to ensure you gain access to protein without expending too much energy.

Do you have tips for fishing if you do not have a regular or survival fishing kit at your disposal?

I always find left behind gear at the lake; half my fishing tackle is scavenged. Ill get bobbers out of trees, [carry an old speaker on some string and run it around on the ground at campsites] hooks and weights scattered, dip the magnet in the firepits and find nails and screws from people burning pallets and such, even old spools i find help winding up my trot lines safely
