We All Have BS Ideas About An Impending Collapse. Believing In This BS, However, Could Get You In Serious Trouble. Check Out These Myths To Stop Believing In Now…

We all love to fantasize about situations in which society collapses and those of us who were prepared all get to bug out to the woods and live off the land. Be honest, you know you've done it. In fact, I even have a t-shirt that says: “The Hardest Part About the Zombie Apocalypse Will Be Pretending I'm Not Excited.”

Well, the truth of the matter is that very few of us have realistic expectations about what the world will be like post-disaster. Even survival experts all have ideas about the best ways to survive that have totally been proven false by history time and time again.

What are these BS ideas that you need to get out of your head, NOW, before it's too late? Keep reading to learn a lesson or two…

This article doesn’t show anything new. Its what is best suited for you. The best thing a prepper or survivalist can do is start a group. Strength in numbers! I’m part of a WV group.

I hate the city, that won’t change when$#%&!@*goes down hill. Everyone thinks their plan is best. Well good on ya, it may be the best for your situation but damn well isn’t for mine. I am a woodland creature already, no SHTF will make me think otherwise. A damn fine plus to growing up in WY.

I actually think that this article is quite reasonable. It do appear though that no immediate economic collapse is eminent. If the bad guys knock out the grid there would certainly be a few days of chaos, but within 90 days we should be back up to 1975-1995 levels of technology… And hell, I already lived through that once.

All this tells me is the government is going to save you which is bullshit. I’m not talking Zombie$#%&!@*here but people should be prepared for realistic situations. Schools used to teach civil preparedness, and people were better informed decades ago. Pantries have been converted into bigger bathrooms or clothing closets. Realistic threats in today’s world would be grid down, financial depression, terrorist attack, or natural disaster. any one of these can trigger an event where you will be isolated from ROL. The point here is be self sufficient as best you can in an emergency and prepared to defend yourself if need be while being a good neighbor and helping when and where you can.

Good read. Common sense mainly but “common sense” isn’t so common these days.

Reality we probably wouldn’t unless we started building underground bunkers here like the Muslims have here in there no zone areas

This is bs – if anarchy breaks loose , do you really think that people are gonna worry about whether a law is broken….smh

  8. Dennis Bessette said:

No , but the starving residence of the city will. No water no food no heat no fuel, what do you think they will do. preppers are not prepping against immigrants.although their self centered primitive behavior will not help anything.

  9. Bradley Eggleston said:

So you actually believe all the police, sheriffs, and enforcement are still going to be out doing “the rule of law” after a total collapse? Not being paid and leaving their own families unprotected? Really? No food, no water, no electricity and you think people are going to pull together in cities? I think the only part you got right was small rural community’s are the best chance. I can promise you this, you don’t want to be anywhere close to a big city when it goes down, if you really think you do I wish you the best of luck, you will need it.

My favorite illusion is burying yourself in a basement and waiting for someone to come and save you.

I see how people are on black Fridays do I need to say more and just minor delay in a power grid like a a few days or longer would send people off the edge with a emp or cyber attack would be a lot longer and I read a study how long with it take when people go Hungary its matter of days before things get really crazy and about 10 days would be a horror and city is the worse place to be when that happens put I do agree if u wonder in woods or would make u target put if u have a close group of friends or family and join together u would greatly increase yr odds not s good idea if its someone else’s land unless u can be part of agreement with the land owners then u also would increase yr odds be part of the solution not the problem

Big city police departments, you are 100% correct but rural town departments, they will still try to maintain a sense of structure for the community. It won’t be perfect but there will be laws enforced. I agree with you regarding staying clear of the big cities but I agree with the writer regarding staying away from singling yourself out in the rural areas. The best course of action is to stay among a community who you know and can trust on a reasonable level.

Did I read this right? The swarm of locusts won’t be leaving the city, but they will still find and kill you in your backwoods hideout? Smh

Both Republicans and Democrats are scared. Even Obummer is trying to tell us that we can’t vote for Trump because we are stupid. We are too stupid to handle a gun and too stupid to vote. It’s because we are not conforming to what the Establishment and Society is choosing for us. People can’t believe that the silent majority is finally standing up and choosing who WE want not who THEY want us to pick. They cannot control us and that’s why they are scared. They don’t want Trump because the Trump Train will stop the Gravy Train. Lots of power and money at stake. TRUMP is self funding..let’s look straight ahead and don’t get side tracked. We are making history. Next election won’t be as hard because people will know that we all have a choice. American land of the free to vote for whoever you want! We the people want and will vote for TRUMP 2016!

if you consider yourself a prepper and can’t survive in the deep woods for 6 years, you are not a prepper you are a camper. real prepping is knowledge. this article sounds like it was written by a city boy who can’t part with his unnatural environment. you can keep your city but when you have exhausted all resources and eventually make your way to the woods we will see then who the easy target is, remember we will be there first we will see you before you see us

I am far enough from a city they won’t be able to walk that far. If they do & are armed, they will be dropped from 600 meters away.

They will when the store shelves are empty of food. Without fuel they won’t get very far outside of the city.

****PLEASE READ**** ! ! My sons story, There are so many out there praying for us and wishing us well, My son has aspergers, ADD, Clinical Anxiety and Clinical Depression with suicidal tendencies if there is anyone out there, a Celebrity maybe or anyone else with some clout who has the resources to get my sons story heard, My sons story would then have been given a chance of at least being read by the celeb or someone able to help in his cause. The story on my wall has been provided with so much proof it would make them sick over it and someone would have done something by now. I am still praying it will happen. INTERESTED in doing the right thing?? Championing a special needs child Being abused while it is ignored by everyone in the state of Illinois simply because he is different. While they refuse to admit that not only does it happen but that it is a frequent and growing issue across this country This kind of treatment will eventually affect all students and children in all Schools etc. If nothing else can you look at the post on my wall and read his story that I have been posting? Thank You! That story is why I have been repeatedly posting as replies on your posts for over a month now. Thank you. PLEASE READ MY WALL AND SHARE !!

Get your non lethal bean bags ready; well the the food and clean water ran out about a week ago , and your ready to BBQ your dog and trying to remember what that guy said why you shouldn’t leave the city. Think for your self don’t let other people do your thinking!

What a total andl complete moron. Here’s an idea try making sentences that make sense. You lost at the second sentence that makes absolutely no sense at all. What a fucking idiot, please do the world a favor and die. In a total economic collapse scenario the government won’t exist because there will be no money pay government employees. WOW you are stupid, I mean does it hurt to be that stupid.

government is going to save you? Just how will it ? Oh, FEMA, BLM, EPA? maybe the Police will save you?

  27. William Walton said:

I haven’t even read the article yet, but i know the people you speak of. A true prepare doesn’t have to have a bunker he has to have the bunker of knowledge.

  28. William Walton said:

Truth is in the article. I would never trust or prep with someone who whole heartedly believed in a zombie apocalypse………id wait till they slept and loot them blind.

  29. Daniel A. Krupa said:

if you loot a zombie prepper all you will get is a few cliff bars and a$#%&!@*ton of useless .22 rounds

Some of the points have merits, but most of them revolve around the govt getting its$#%&!@*together and bringing back order and control. If true social breakdown or a pandemic or all out anarchy happens; the govt cannot help you. I still believe in getting as far away, initially, from major population centers as possible. Once the big ticket violence and chaos ends, then you can go in and test the waters, scavenge, feel things out. My wife and I both being military and raising our kids to be survivalists, I think bugging out is doable for us

  31. Mark Harrison said:

there is nothing wrong with thinking ahead . 8 out of 10 wont make it without the big city / brother . even if your the TOP DOG PREPER ??? if some thing bad happens ??? odds are real good you wont be able to stay where you are ……. this means all the preping you done will be left behind . prep for about 2 weeks of hard time or less . thats about all you or anyone else can carry . think ahead …… things like fishing gear , a good knife , a gun or 2 , firdt aid kit ….. and knolegde !!!!!! try and learn what you will need once you run out . and how to get it or make it . again keep in mind . if your on the move ??? you need to be able to do just that ……… move ………..

  32. Mark Harrison said:

9 times out of 10 ……. survival is getting away ……… not staying where you are ……………

  33. Charles Baker said:

The “Golden Horde” theory is still being taught in civil preparedness, its based on a total breakdown of government and economy( examples given do not apply). If citizens have hope that help is on the way, they will stay put, but if they lose hope of anyone coming they will leave and seek food and supplies elsewhere ( neighbors, farms, etc.) . Under a WROL situation one does not know when law will return, so most citizens will take actions as they seem fit at the time. As for living off the land in the woods , most people would ‘not survive, so I agree with that, so being prepared to shelter in place is the best option for most people.

  34. Dave Hubbard Jr. said:

you say that daniel, but have you ever even been in the woods, in winter? real winter not your mild NC winters

  35. Daniel A. Krupa said:

i’m originally from NY so….yes I have been in some pretty cold$#%&!@*before. also why shelter building is one of the first things you learn right along with fire starting. learning the primitive methods makes you really appreciate a lighter and a plastic tarp
