Make Hunting Easy with This DIY Snare Trap for the Spring

spring snare snap

Beyond collecting the materials and building the trap, a spring snare trap is an effective, low maintenance way to catch small game.

If placed on or near a small game run, the chances of trapping something for food is actually much higher than traipsing around the woods relying on blind luck.

Trapping game makes some people squeamish, but in a survival situation where you need food, trapping small game is a low-energy method of getting the food you need.

One note: The Spring Snare Trap's trigger mechanism takes a bit of practice to perfect, so you should definitely build it several times before you think you might have to use it.

Also, when building snares or traps, remember the purpose is to kill animals for food, so please be careful where you set them and never leave them unattended or abandon them.

Sure, food is readily available. You realize though, if the grid goes down, food in stores will run completely out in about 1 day….

Uh huh.. Where are you going to trap in Central PARK? I think our time and money is better spent figuring out how to make sure the grid NEVER GOES DOWN rather than WASTE like the F-35.

We live in rural oregon. Lose power quite often. Do this, shut off your breaker panel for 30 days, then come back with an educated response. Living with no electricity is so very enlightening.
