Make a Bug Out Stove Out of Soda Cans – You Gotta Check This Out!

With supplies commonly found in most vehicle toolboxes, or easily attained if you don't have them presently, you can make a penny can stove.

Called a penny can stove because the fill holes at the top are covered by a penny when operating the stove, this is an easy and reliable source of heat for cooking.

All you need is denatured alcohol, two aluminum cans, sharpie, nail, hammer, tin snips or scissors, pliers, sealant, fiberglass insulation and a small file. To learn more about how to make and operate one of these stoves, watch the video below:

While most of these supplies are easily attainable, you may find yourself at a loss as to how to attain fiberglass insulation when in the middle of a bug out situation.

Most vehicles these days have a fiberglass shield attached to the underside of the hood; a small piece of this will do. As for the denatured alcohol, any flammable alcohol will work to some extent, or Zippo fuel will work nicely too. This video proves that keeping a resourceful mindset is the key to surviving a difficult situation, as most problems can be worked out with innovative solutions.
