Lose Your Key? Why Pressing Your Key Against a Piece of Tape Will Save You

making a spare key

Lose Your Key? Instead Of Being Stranded, Try This Amazing Hack Instead:

Losing your key isn't fun. Imagine being stuck outside in single digit temperatures for three hours waiting for your significant other to get home so you can go inside and get warm. Been there, done that.

Anyways, if you prepare ahead of time, having a spare key stashed somewhere on the property is always a good idea, but then you run the risk of someone finding it and getting in. If it's the middle of the winter and the key is buried, getting it out of the ground will require a jackhammer anyway. So what are you going to do?

With a lighter, your original key, and a piece of a tin can, you can easily shape your own spare key that in most circumstances will serve its purpose and get you home. Sounds pretty incredible, right? It is.

Take a look at the video on the next page to find out how to shape your spare key for emergencies.

If you’re going to lose a key, you’re going to lose a little piece of tape too sorry. Most people make a whole whopping spare key that works in the lock and everything!
