Hunting Squirrel in a Survival Situation

If you are facing a survival situation and have to hunt or trap your own food, you need to know your surroundings and figure out the easiest and least obtrusive way to secure you quarry.

One of the most plentiful animals just about everywhere are squirrels.

Before you balk at that, consider that they are really no different than any other meat source and can be found virtually everywhere.

In a pinch, if you absolutely had to and had no other alternatives, they could be a life-saving source of nutrition.

Knowing how to hunt various animals greatly improves your chances and that includes knowing all you can about squirrels, because in a survival situation, squirrels may be the one source of game you can most easily find.

    Around these parts, we don’t call squirrel hunting a WSHTF scenario… we call it the weekend. Here, it isn’t considered a survival skill…it is something we start doing as young children and what many consider a leisure activity.
