How to Make Whiskey Step by Step Post-Collapse

making whiskey

It should go without saying that one of the hottest commodities post-collapse will be alcohol. It has been a form of currency ever since it was invented thousands of years ago.

Chances are, thousands of years from now, we'll still be trading cases of beer to get our friends to help us move into our new space-station.

While all alcohols are held in high regard, whiskey is on a separate pedestal all over the world.

It is one of the most highly sought-after liquors on the planet, and many people would fork over a pretty hefty price for a bottle of it if conditions are right.

This isn't likely to change when SHTF. There's a lot of alcoholics out there and even those who aren't will probably pay a great deal for a taste of better days.

For those reasons, it would be in your best interest to learn how to distil your own whiskey before times get rough. Learn how on the next page.

Too easily foiled, John. My thoughts is its not a thing, but a sign already in those that reject the Lord’s offer of Redemption. The true believers will not be able to stomach the requirements, nor turn their back on their Lord. And will refuse all of the prizes and gifts of the world to not have to participate. THAT, because of the Seal the Lord has set on them. The “world” will be to sick and beaten to care. But if you have a better answer, I have no proof for this, stay with yours and let only the truth sway you…

Alcohol is a world wide currency. Used in everything from sterilization, better fire starts, making ones own medicine from soaking plants, and more. It’s probably one of the only “currencies” that have held it’s place no matter the era in human history.

Move to the northwest, so long as you don’t sell it you can make all the booze you want.

But the value of alcohol far surpasses your ignorant socially trained understanding of why learning to make it, if you are a prepper, is so important. Alcohol is a world wide currency, a quart of whiskey can trade you a few days meal, or for other supplies. Used in everything from sterilization to more advanced medical, better fire starts, making ones own medicine from soaking plants, and more. It’s probably one of the only “currencies” that have held it’s place no matter the era in human history.

That’s partially true. 174°F for pure ETOH. However you mash will be around 10 to 20% ETOH, the rest will be mostly water and some solids. So at 20% ABV you will run your still closer to 190°F and as that ETOH distills, the ABV of your mash decreases. You’ll keep running it to about 205° or so. Then it is a waste of time.

Discard the foreshot (2 oz per 5 gal of mash) save the heads and the tails for your next run, and keep the hearts.

Distillation is illegal without permits. Even for fuel. You can make beer and wine but not brandy or liqueur because that involves distilling
