Administering first aid in a survival situation can be a tricky business.

The chances are very good if you are the least bit prepared that you have a basic first aid kit, but eventually, the stuff in that kit will run out.

If the survival situation is dire enough, you will have to improvise to handle the inevitable illness, disease or injury that will occur in any prolonged survival situation.

If your supplies are dwindling, or non-existent, you will have to rely on first aid tips – some common knowledge, others not so much.
