One of Creek Stewart's favorite trees in the woods is the pine tree. A pine tree has pine resin (otherwise known as sap,) which is very flammable. Watch the video below to see how pine resin can help you get a fire burning:

Fat wood or pitch wood can be found at the base of a pine tree and if it's soaked in sap, then you're on your way to creating a long lasting fire. If you do have a knife on you, you can cut away some of the splinters or larger chunks of wood. Gather enough to get a fire going and you'll have a long-lasting fire until day break where you can make the trek to your cabin in one piece.
