1 step closer to the privatization of every drop of water on earth. Heard about this in the early 90s and figured it would be impossible… now more plausible than ever.

Legislation to control rain collection is utterly insane. The audacity of our government is outrageous…

Kind of like when satellite tv first came out and went to court over the people buying their own equipment and getting the service for free. Courts said if the signal fell on their property, they were entitled to do what they wanted with it. Creating the practice of encoding by the cable providers. Rain falling on my property, is mine.

My understanding of the law is you can collect from your roof or gutters once the rain Water hits the ground it becomes state property. I live on a hill and water streaming down, if I diverted it that would be against the law

Colorado has voted for and passed the right to collect rain water. And plenty of Democrats and Republicans wanted it to pass. It was mostly special interests and utility companies that were against the bill.

They want the populace to be dependent on them so those special interest groups have a way they can control us. Rain collected for personal use should never be banned.

Kind of like that man that got arrested for diverting a stream that ran through his property. Some people falsely claim he was arrested simply for collecting rain water in barrels.

What a misleading headline….from the article; ” Republicans want to make sure rain barrels don’t put a crack in state water law and ensure that those with the oldest and most expensive water rights get their fair share before those with no rights get a drop.
Rep. Jessie Danielson, a Democrat from Arvada, said the House bill she’s sponsoring is about clarifying the law, which might encourage more people to use rain barrels. The measure has passed the state House and is headed to the Senate.”
