It is almost a given that if you have space and are the least bit concerned about our food supply in a survival situation, you grow some of your own food.

If you do, it is also likely you try to compost as much organic waste as possible.

While compost bins can be very elaborate (one guy I know even has a four stage compost “stable” that moves compost through phases of decomposition), for most of us simple is better and space is at a premium.

This excellent idea for a compost bin is simple, easy to construct and even if you are mechanically disinclined; chances are you can manage it.

You need a pack of zip ties, four pallets and a helper, which is optional.
