You could always buy a 4 way and drill one of the center’s out and thread it then tighten the pipe end into it. It could tighten up against the other end if you just drill through one end.

Fusion tape I see friction tape, its high heat reinsurance and fuses to itself, look up “rescue tape” it’s not sticky and has a great rubbery grip
