You can have the best skills in the world for catching game and fish, but if you do not know how to cook it, you are pretty much stuck eating raw food.

In a Sushi bar, raw fish can be consumed without consequence (give or take). But in a survival situation, consuming raw or contaminated fish can make you incredibly sick.

That is one of the many reasons why you should know how to start a fire, have a cooking method, be able to set it up (practice, practice, practice) and know how to cook the game or fish you have secured.

Without knowing how, you put yourself in a “trial by error” situation that can really cause you problems.
