The seller requested to remain anonymous. Most of the numbers match too. I’ll know for sure when I get the bayonet.

A Mosin is about $250 now. You can buy a reasonable new style rifle for $350

Ammo is not allowed to be imported any longer for some stupid reason, so it is no longer “cheap ammo” nor is it easy to find, every web site I have searched is out of stock, and at the gun shows it’s way over priced.

Love mine. Picked it up at a flee market. 100 bucks. It’s worth 500 bucks. Has all the trimming, in excellent condition. Russian made. Love it.

Can everyone stop posting this stupid article. It is way old and there are no Mosins out there for $100 any more. They are on the banned import list from Russia. That is why the prices went up. Also not all of them shoot good. Need to do some serious inspections on them first. Just because the outside looks goo, does not mean the rifling or the end of the muzzel is good. You may not be able to see it in the muzzle and if it is worn it will shoot way off. I have one that has to be counter bored.

My little brother just bought one 2 days ago. . .120 bucks. . .dunno where you’ve been shopping, and don’t understand how their over pricing is Obama’s fault

Nah… Own stuff with standard size ammo so in a crunch you can scavenge, trade for or take off someone that went down. A gun with no ammo is not even good to paddle a canoe with

They are a nice rifle – not my favorite. ( I own 91/30 and a M44 ) In a SHTF – think a shotgun be the best for a all around tool. Shoot birds / hunt deer and a good defensive weapon.
